Willow_oak_contemporary_ballet

Willow Oak Contemporary Ballet is proud to present "An Evening of Dance" showcasing four premiere choreographic works by Artistic Director, Tamu Wilson Ortenzio, ranging in style from neo-classical ballet to contemporary. WOCB will present fresh, genre-crossing collaborations that beautifully marry classical renditions with a contemporary twist.

Continuum is a neoclassical ballet set to the sublime music of Gabriel Faure and explores the various pathways and complexities of body movement and patterns. ComeIn! is a power packed, aerobically challenging journey set to the robust and quirky 1975 Philip Glass opera, Einstein on the Beach. Liberte examines the nature and limitations of the human condition set to the scintillating Philip Glass Violin Concerto No.2. Rodion Shchedrin's adaptation of Bizet's Carmen will be restaged for the company. This provocative story of love, intrigue and betrayal set in 1820 Seville, Spain will provide an innovative, contemporary interpretation to a classically traditional ballet.

Renowned choreographer, Jason Parsons will debut a premiere work commissioned exclusively for WOCB.
